Project Manager

Work location: Adelaide, SA

Roster: Monday to Friday

Fortescue is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced candidate for the role of Project Manager to be responsible for the development of green energy projects in South Australia. 

You will be enthusiastic, willing to embrace Fortescue values leading the transition to clean energy. Someone able to push the limits to reduce costs and schedule to safely deliver projects.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • End-to-end delivery of the green energy projects
  • Comply with, implement and ensure adherence to the Fortescue HSSE policies, systems and procedures for the project.
  • Providing strategic, technical, operational, financial, and managerial leadership for successful implementation of projects
  • Develop and direct project strategic planning and project management operations in order to meet organisational goals
  • Implement systems, tools and processes to ensure effective project delivery
  • Ensure the project is technically sound and consistent with funder and stakeholders’ priorities
  • Provide oversight of project implementation including all activities, outputs and outcomes related to project management and administration, including reporting, budget development and monitoring, financial transactions, execution of project plans, and project performance
  • Ensure the project produces the specified outcomes to the required quality, within schedule and budget parameters
  • Conduct monthly reviews to ensure accountability of all project activities as well as the accurate and timely reporting of financial deliverables and obligations
  • Ensure all FFI Infrastructure adheres to all Government regulations and procedures relating to maintaining our business licenses
  • Suggest and implement innovative ideas throughout the project lifecycle, across all disciplines to improve project schedule and budget

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field from an accredited university
  • Significant experience in a similar role delivering highly complex, industrial projects in energy, LNG, petrochemical or gas industries
  • Experience working as Company Representative / comfortable operating with an Owners team organisation
  • Demonstrated diplomatic, management, and communication skills to liaise and advocate with governments and other key stakeholders
  • Proven ability to write technical reports and project documents and deliver presentations
  • A high level of initiative and “get up and go” to manage own workflow to meet objectives, with persistence and resilience when faced with obstacles
  • A flexible mindset, the willingness to learn and challenge traditional thinking, and be prepared to work outside of their comfort zone.
