We are looking for a Project Services Manager to join the Project APAC Copper and Aluminium Project Services team for Rio Tinto Projects with a focus on Contract formation, contract administration, cost and scheduling control.
This role is a great opportunity for a seasoned Project Services professional to influence and ensure project services are maintained and delivered for Rio Tinto’s Projects Copper and Aluminium projects occurring in APAC, with particular focus on Argyle operations. You will join a globally connected organisation and work as part of a collaborative, engaged and diverse team. Reporting to the Senior Manager Project Services – Copper & Aluminium and working in a collaborative and exciting environment you will:
- Partner with stakeholders to deliver the Rio Tinto Projects APAC – Copper and Aluminium project and capital plan by managing project controls practices and ensuring compliance with Rio Tinto Projects systems, policies and procedures
- Lead and develop the APAC – Copper and Aluminium Argyle Closure Project Services team to enable optimal performance and deliverables
- Problem solving and providing advice to project leaders regarding project controls related issues including cost and progress measurement, schedule and change management and contracts issues around contractor claims and contracting strategies.
- Validate project and portfolio reports, as well as regular review of project controls reporting, cost and schedule status
- Using your project management skills to implement continuous improvement initiatives

What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Previous success in building, leading and developing a team of Project Services professionals
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build effective relationships both within the business and with vendors
- Degree qualification in Business/Commerce or Engineering or similar
- Substantial proven experience in Project Services attained within a project environment
- Thorough understanding of contracts, project controls and project management concepts
