Fortescue Future Industries are currently embarking on becoming global pioneers of a worldwide portfolio of green hydrogen, hydropower, geothermal, wind and solar resources, with sites targeted in regions of Europe, UK, North America, South America, Asia Pacific, Africa, Middle East and Central Asia.

Moving to the next stage of the development of our North American and European portfolios, FFI is now looking to engage an experienced Project Services professional based in UK, Europe or North Americas to oversee the project services and controls functions on both continents.

Summary:

As a key member of the Global Project Services team, this position is responsible for the leadership, governance, due diligence, management, formulation, implementation, and the maintenance of FFI’s Regional Project Services portfolio. The regional project portfolio includes the provision of cost control, planning, reporting, document control, estimating, risk management, data, systems, analytics, and technical reporting.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain a project services portfolio level service using key technical planning, controls parameters including people resources, power generation, production, and materials requirements.
  • Responsible for provision of estimating (study and execution phases), project controls, document control, risk management and scheduling services for the regional portfolio.
  • Lead all interface activities between projects, studies, engineering, execution, operations, manufacturing, consultants and contractors to ensure the adequacy, quality, currency, and validity of deliverables.
  • Be the custodian of all reporting and communications of a project and study nature. Ensure both professional and technical integrity has been undertaken over all information transfer internal to FFI and external to interested parties and stakeholders.
  • Be the custodian of data, systems including lessons learned system to enhance retention and transfer of planning insight across FFI.
  • Implement and maintain quality enterprise systems to ensure light, nimble and effective management is in place and being used to provide effective, timely and appropriate levels of governance and momentum.
  • Be the champion for project services procedural and systems requirements, linking and including corporate project services framework, vision and structure into the delivery model.
  • Undertake and support the Regional and Corporate leadership to complete project health checks. These project health checks are to be undertaken to ensure best practice in study and project delivery.
  • Lead and support collaborative project services support to all FFI elements, stakeholders, investors and interested parties across the region.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in a construction, engineering discipline. Additional commercial / business qualifications preferable.
  • Prior experience in a similar role preferably in the resources and renewable energy sector and complex construction and engineering environments.
  • Minimum 10+ experience as a Senior International Manager specialising in the provision of Project Services and or Contracts and Procurement or similar.
  • Experience of working for a multi-national (client-side) and for a Top 500 Company as a Project Services or Contracts and Procurement Leader.
  • Strong demonstrated leadership negotiation, problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal success.
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in collaboration with other like-minded team members and adjacent project teams (also delivering a variation of the system).
  • A strong capability in adapting to multidisciplinary requirements communicating a range of engineering and commercial concepts to a range of expertise.
  • Strong data and systems management and understanding, excellent experience in developing, implementing and managing regional and global systems to meet the highest standards of data integrity and utilisation.
