ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position that is DIDO daily, from our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.  

As Projects Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a selection of projects within the Worsley Capital Portfolio which are well-planned and cost-effective in delivering solutions that meet business requirements, through strong leadership and collaboration with stakeholders and suppliers. 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Ensure that all projects are developed and delivered from concept to closeout in accordance with the South32 project management framework;
• Single point project leadership in delivering projects to approved scope, timeframes and budgets
• Provide safety leadership throughout the project life cycle that is aligned to the South32 values;
• Ensure all project design and execution risks are identified and well managed

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

• Several years’ experience in delivering projects of varying complexity and budget ($500k to $5M) throughout the full project lifecycle in a brownfields environment within the resources industry
• A sound technical knowledge and understanding of mining and resources projects
• Proven experience in developing and managing schedules and budgets & business financial evaluation
• Experienced with MS Suite and MS Project;

Qualifications for this position are:  

• Project management qualification
• Engineering or technical trade qualification within Electrical, Process or Mechanical disciplines highly
