Ashton - Owned by Yancoal, Ashton is an underground mine and coal handling preparation plant located in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of NSW. 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Deputy to join our team at Ashton Coal Operation as a Pumper. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for; •    Manage, plan and organise pumping activities and resources •    Maintain and enforce regulations, standards and systems of work developed for the mine to deliver a safe and productive environment •    Work closely with the Engineering team to ensure all aspects of water management are implemented to maximize efficiency  

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Underground Coal Mining
• NSW 3rd Class (Deputies) Certificate of Competency
• Cert IV Underground Coal Mining (desirable)
• Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Proven experience promoting a positive safety culture
• Sound planning, organisation and problem solving skills
