Roster:
Monday to Friday
Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the focus of this role is responsible for the delivery of procurement for the Customer Group in purchasing and expediting of goods and services associated with the business.
Your primary accountabilities will include:
- Purchase and expedite materials, parts, supplies, equipment and services following established purchasing policies and procedures and optimizes price, delivery and terms
- Identify cost-competitive and reliable suppliers and issue requests for quotations, leveraging RFQ opportunities and supplied capabilities
- Analyse (under direction) commercial benefit initiatives in new capital, sustaining capital, maintenance programs and operational spend
- Ensure all goods and services are ordered and received according to specification
- Ensure correct costing of materials
- Ensure that Customer Group needs are consistently met in regards to the provision of purchasing services
The successful candidate will have the following skills:
- Relevant experience in a similar commercial purchasing/buyer role, ideally within 2 plus year in mining and resources.
- Demonstrates sound understanding of materials and inventory management and services buying including commercial and legal terms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge in purchase to pay and logistics processes and experience in the supply of both goods and services.
- SAP experience
- Team orientation and ability to adapt quickly.
- Ability to handle multiple and highly complex tasks and activities that contain financial and operational risk.
