Are you an experienced Purchasing Officer with a background in mining or heavy industry? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven professional to manage end-to-end purchasing of mining parts, services, and consumables across multiple mine sites throughout Australia.
This is a fast-paced, high-impact role where your ability to source efficiently, expedite effectively, and keep operations moving will directly support site performance.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the full procure-to-pay process, ensuring critical parts and services are sourced, ordered, and delivered to site on time. Working closely with vendors, freight providers, and internal stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in maintaining operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Source parts and services in line with company policy and preferred suppliers
- Generate purchase orders and manage follow-ups
- Proactively manage vendor purchase orders, including back orders and overdue items
- Expedite parts to ensure on-time delivery to site
- Book couriers and freight providers to meet delivery deadlines
- Perform regular expediting and dispatch follow-ups
- Coordinate and resolve invoice queries with internal teams
About You
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a purchasing role
- Experience purchasing mining, mechanical, or heavy equipment parts (highly regarded)
- Experience using large ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, JDE)
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks
