About the role

This role is a 7:7 day/night roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns.

You will be responsible for providing specialist application and technical ability in the maintenance and delivery of CAS, Digital Radio and other fleet systems for the GEMCO operation. In addition, you will develop plans and execute tasks to support deployed technologies, technology services, or transition of new or enhanced technology services with a particular focus on communication hardware and applications.

Key accountabilities -

• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures and demonstrate safety leadership by actively promoting a safe working environment
• Identify & diagnose faults in radio and fleet systems and implement appropriate repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment, software and systems to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules in accordance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) guidelines & best practices
• Work with external suppliers to bring the operations systems maintenance practices up to standard
• Document maintenance activities and submit reports to the Supervisor regularly

About you

You will have a passion and commitment to workplace safety and have experience working in a similar role within Mining or Heavy Industry.

In addition, you will have-

• Certificate III or higher in Electronics & Communications
• Ideally a trade qualification in Radio or Electronic Communications
• Working at Heights & High Risk work licences
• Experience with modular fleet management, Motorola DMR and Hexagon fleet systems experience (CAS, FMS)
• 12/24V electrical experience
• Communication cabling experience (RF, Ethernet)
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve
