About the Role

We have a new permanent opportunity for a Rail Ore Car Maintenance Supervisor to join the team within the Rolling Stock Maintenance Team. This is an ideal move for someone looking for a dynamic work environment where no two days are ever the same. You can leverage your existing knowledge of Rail Ore Car /and Rolling Stock Maintenance practices with safety, work management and continuous improvement anchored as the focus for your position. This residential opportunity will be offered on a 8 days on / 8 days off roster.
Our successful candidate, who be reporting to the Ore Car Maintenance Superintendent, will be highly motivated/proactive, have strong communication skills and proven ability to lead the day-to-day effective running of the Rail Ore Car Maintenance crews and ensure a high level of safety, service and work quality.
Location
As this is a residential role you will be based in the coastal town of Port Hedland, Western Australia. Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The 20,000-strong population enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities. The excellent sporting and leisure facilities include; a new aquatic centre, sports stadium and water play park. Its beaches and mangroves are home to an abundance of fish and other wildlife. Within driving distance are the spectacular Broome, Karratha and Karijini national Park.
About You

• A genuine commitment to safety • Be highly motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving • Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to work in a dynamic team environment • Have previous leadership experience and exhibits sound competency in all Step Up behaviours / leadership capabilities • Have previous experience with Rail Rolling Stock is preferred • Be able to cultivate positive relationships through effective communication and consultation with all employees and stakeholders • Hold a current full West Australian “C” class motor vehicle license or current equivalent Australian State motor vehicle license • Hold a Trade Qualification equivalent Degree in a related maintenance disciple is highly desirable.
