About the Role
Reporting to the Rail Manager, we are looking for a Rail Specialist to join the BMA Rail Team based at Hay Point Coal Terminal, Mackay offered on a residential 5x2 roster.
This is a great opportunity to consolidate your Rail experience as you gain exposure to one of the most desirable working locations in Queensland. You will also have access to a results-oriented, collaborative and supportive team.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Use Rail Industry expertise to search out change, growth, innovation, and improvement to provide ongoing focus on the coal delivery system
- Work collaboratively within the wider Rail Operation to achieve the efficient and effective movement of coal from mine to port
- Review Operational performance to support both Rail Production and Maintenance through data collection and analysis to generate information and insights from the data sets to identify trends and patterns
- Lead interface activities with Transfer Facility License Operators and Yards & Terminals
- Coordinate the analysis of project and operational requirements, investigate solutions and provide guidance to the operation
- Drive effective working relationships with customers and stakeholders to ensure improvement initiatives are in keeping with wider business objectives
- Lead business unit capability projects: consult, educate and influence key coal supply chain stakeholders on capability development and competency management
- Drive collaboration across regions to ensure consistent application of improvement activities across Minerals Australia Operation

About You
As the successful applicant you will:
- Be a subject matter expert and have a significant and diverse background across the Rail Industry
- Tertiary qualificationsand, or equivalent experience in Project Management would be highly regarded
- Change management experience including CM qualifications such as Prosci, would be highly regarded
- Excellent data analytical capability
- A skilled influencer, able to connect and implement change with a range of stakeholders and environments
- Experience with identifying and managing risks to mitigate impact to program delivery
- Value driven and results focused, with the ability to coordinate resources to meet deadlines
