About the Role


We're looking for an experienced Recruitment Advisor to join our New Zealand business. Based in Christchurch, you will play a pivotal role in building a strong underground team to support Macmahon’s continuous growth in the South Island.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a Recruitment & Onboarding professional who enjoys working in a dynamic operational environment and being part of a business experiencing continued growth.


Responsibilities  

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for underground operations, including advertising roles, screening candidates, interviewing, managing offers, and supporting onboarding.
  • Work with hiring managers to define role requirements and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Provide recruitment advice and market insights to support hiring decisions.
  • Maintain talent pipelines and ensure recruitment records are accurate and up to date.
  • Promote Macmahon as an employer of choice through candidate engagement and attraction activities.
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers, employees, and candidates.
  • Track recruitment performance and identify opportunities to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Ensure all recruitment activities comply with company policies and employment legislation.


What You’ll Bring 

  • Experience recruiting for underground mining operations or similar industries.
  • Proven success in sourcing, attracting, and securing high-quality candidates.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple vacancies and prioritise recruitment activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with hiring managers and external stakeholders to achieve recruitment goals.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage candidates at all levels and deliver a positive candidate experience.


Role Details 

  • Location: New Zealand, Christchurch
  • Roster: Monday to Friday | Site travel as required
