ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on a continuous shift roster based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities. 

As the Refinery Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing safe, efficient production and maintenance activities within HSE standards.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Work within the South 32 Care Strategy to promote and improve safety performance, establishing an interdependent safety culture.
• Collaborate with refinery counterparts to ensure plant activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
• Provide day-to-day technical leadership to a Production Execution team, ensuring effective delivery against operational plans.
• Review and address maintenance needs and plant equipment status to enhance performance and safety.
• Lead and mentor Control Room Specialists, driving performance improvements and adherence to safety standards

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Proven experience in Alumina production
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage information effectively under pressure
• Strong focus on improvement opportunities
• Skilled in collaboration and communication
• Offers practical advice and technical guidance, with a strong understanding of the Bayer Process and refinery equipment

Preferred qualifications for this position are: 

• Previous supervisory or control room experience in alumina refinery operations
• Tertiary degree in Chemical, Metallurgy, or relevant discipline
• Schedule 26 (Section 44) appointment
