About the role

We are looking for an experienced Refrigeration / Electrical Maintainer  to carry out routine maintenance, attend breakdowns and carry out improvement works on the Northern or Southern Operations Fixed Plant Assets, including associated infrastructure while actively working to identify opportunities for improvement.

You’ll live in the idyllic coastal town of Weipa, with full relocation provided, working across our Northern and Southern Operations.  We have options to suit your lifestyle and goals, at East Weipa or Andoom (Northern Operations) you’ll be home after each shift and for roles based at Amrun (Southern Operations) you will stay at our newly built camp during shift and commute back to Weipa on days off, with an additional allowance to compensate time away from home. 

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor for your team, your role may involve:

• Carrying out preventative maintenance on our air-conditioning and electrical plant and equipment across the Andoom, Weipa and Amrun sites

• Carrying out statutory electrical checks on a variety of site-based electrical infrastructure, including cathodic protection systems, airfield lighting, and switchboards in addition to Airconditioning plant and equipment

• Fault finding and maintaining air-conditioning and electrical plant and equipment during breakdown situations

What you’ll bring 

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team  

• A manual C class drivers’ license  

• A trade qualification – Queensland Electrical Trades Licence (or equivalent with the ability to acquire the Queensland licence) & Refrigeration Mechanic Qualification or experience

• Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft word and excel

• The ability to communicate effectively within a team environment  

• A sense of ownership of the equipment and a mindset of continual improvement

• Experience with SAP or similar work management system
