We are looking for an enthusiastic and high performing Maintainer Refrigeration to join our Infrastructure department at our West Angelas Operations.

This role is for applicants residing in Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth or one of our selected regional FIFO hubs.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Supervisor and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the Pilbara Mining Operations, you will be required to:

  • General refrigeration works to mine site assets to a high standard, and in accordance with relevant Australian Standards
  • Responsible for preparing new installations of industrial, commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems
  • Repairs and maintenance of air conditioning plant, including, room air conditioners, split units, evaporative coolers, chiller units and all other general AC work.
  • Repairs and maintenance of refrigeration equipment, including, ice machines, drinking water fountains and all other general refrigeration work.
  • Assisting all trades (electrical, plumbing, general building).

What you’ll bring:

  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Licence 
  • Restricted Electrical Licence 
  • C Class Drivers Licence
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work well under pressure
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Able and willing to work in extreme environmental condition
  • Demonstrates a genuine commitment to safety
