Refrigeration Technician
Work Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
Infrastructure Services maintains assets across the entire mine site operation and camp facilities including but not limited to: Accommodation buildings, offices, workshops, MAL Laboratories, fuel storage facilities, waste and potable water treatment plants as well as the newly built hydrogen plants.
This position is responsible to deliver safe, high-quality, and compliant repair work, maintenance and inspections to support the effective operation of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning assets within the hydrogen gas plant, hydrogen liquid plant, Heavy Equipment battery charger and surrounding Infrastructure at the Christmas Creek Green Energy Hub.
Key responsibilities include:
- Relevant experience in hydrogen gas production, mining or related heavy industry
- Experience with air conditioning split systems
- Experience with air-conditioning, closed-circuit water chillers, ice machines etc, fault finding and repairs as well as replacement of said machinery.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, trouble shoot and repair plant (HVAC Systems, Complex HVAC Systems)
- Knowledge of applicable legislations, Australian Standards and ARCTICK codes of conduct.
- Experience working in Hazardous Areas & inspections on HA equipment
- Experience using Microsoft Office and SAP operating system
Qualifications and Experience:
- MEM30205 Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Refrigeration/Air Conditioning)
- Current West Australian Restricted Electrical License
- WA Class C Driver’s Licence
- Current Refrigerant Handling License. RAC01 - Full Refrigeration and Air Conditioning License.
- Hazardous Areas Training (desirable)
- Hydrocarbon refrigerant training (TAFE) (Preferred not essential)
- Ability to time manage, organise & prioritise workload
- Flexibility to work across a wide range of refrigeration disciplines
- Competent in reading technical manuals/plans/schematics and report writing
- Sound problem solving skills
