We are looking for a collaborative and talented Studies and Integrated Planning Manager to lead and oversee the planning and execution of a portfolio of studies and 10 year plan strategic initiatives across our Gudai Darri, Hope Downs and Yandi mining hub.

Reporting to the General Manager Integrated Planning and working as part of dynamic and exciting team, you will be:
- Leading a team to creatively explore and analyse options to develop new mines and infrastructure inclusive of framing, shaping and trade-off analysis
- Managing and developing the performance of your team in line with Rio Tinto’s company values, to achieve our objectives and ensure team members meet their full potential
- Developing and delivering asset development strategies to support delivery of the 10-year plan
- Integrating, aligning and communicating our mine replenishment and 10 year planning assumptions to our stakeholders and partners and listening to and incorporating feedback into continuous improvement
- Progressing mine replenishment and closure studies through the studies lifecycle
- Work with internal stakeholders to prepare the asset development strategies, study execution plans and related deliverables
- Take responsibility for the hub budget, schedule and progress by co-ordinating and tracking activities to align with the objectives and plan, and reporting as required
- Work with our delivery team RT Projects in relation to the execution related deliverables, as well as implementing sound study management practices which optimise decision making, record keeping, project controls and team communications
- Managing internal governance and approvals to move the study through review and study stage gates
- Provide internal technical reviews of other projects providing an opportunity to share learnings across projects and studies.
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Proven leadership experience with effective influencing and negotiation skills
- Proven study management or project management ability and understanding of study phasing
- Risk management, commercial awareness, business analysis & reporting, financial, and operational/business knowledge
- Experience in leading and managing a team of diverse professionals embracing inclusive leadership behaviours
- An ability to understand technical and stakeholder issues and solutions outside of your field of expertise
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Processing, Geoscience, Environmental Science, Law, Business Analysis or other relevant discipline
- You will also be passionate about delivering optimised solutions and have a natural curiosity, drive for results and appetite for constructive challenge and risk based creative thinking.
