Registered Nurse/Paramedic

Work Location: Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

Roster: 8 days / 6 off – FIFO ex Perth

Role overview:

An unique opportunity has come up for self motivated, flexible and proactive Registered Nurse/Registered Paramedic to join our Chichester Hub team. Reporting to the Superintendent Health, Security and Emergency Services, you will provide medical care in both emergency and non-emergency treatment and promote health care to all site personnel in accordance with Fortescue's policies and procedures. 

Being well versed in interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills, you will also be responsible to maintain treatment facilities, site ambulance and all equipment to the highest standards, along with a strong commitment to emergency response and confidence in their skills and experience

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate care delivery needs to effectively manage rapidly changing situations and ensure high quality patient care
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Medical online programs and Excel and maintain confidential, accurate and detailed medical treatment records
  • Provide training and support to the Emergency Services and response teams 
  • Daily emergency and medical care of all personnel and work an on-call roster 
  • Demonstrate proficiency using OSHA guidelines and FMG policies and procedures when classifying and treating injuries 
  • Ability to coordinate and manage COVID testing and isolation protocols on site

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse / Registered Paramedic with no restrictions
  • Relevant experience in an Emergency environment and or Operational capacity
  • Advanced Clinical assessment skills 
  • Experience in Emergency nursing / paramedicine is preferred 
  • Current Australian manual driver's licence
  • Drug and Alcohol Screening certification
