About the Role
This role integrates rehabilitation planning into mine operations and translates plans into executable delivery, with a clear focus on delivering progressive rehabilitation outcomes at scale across Mining Area C and South Flank.
Reporting to the Lead Rehabilitation Planning, the key aspects of the role are:
- Developing Progressive Closure Plans (PCP) and 2 Year Rehabilitation Project Plans (2YRP).
- Provides inputs into the mine plan, enabling integration of closure and rehabilitation plans in both the tactical and medium-term planning horizons.
- Backfill guidance
- Rock armour guidance
- Rehab project schedule, including key enabling work for delivery
- Design guidance
- Translates the PCP and 2YRP into executable documents (CPORTS and Scopes of Work)for delivery.
- Provides cost and schedule forecasts for closure and rehabilitation projects.
- Stakeholder engagement and collaboration
- Develops mitigation and remediation strategies for deviation to plan
- Quality management, provides rehabilitation and closure expertise for execution teams
About You
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- A sound understanding of Mine operations and mine planning, including scheduling and design.
- Understanding of mine planning outputs and interpretation of data against progressive closure plans, particularly risks associated with iron ore waste material.
- Basic cost estimation skills.
- Work with diverse personnel and a wide range of technical disciplines.
- Communication of key closure and rehabilitation principles and concepts to multiple external and internal stakeholders of different technical backgrounds.
- Grasp of risk and technical problem solving, with the ability to succinctly frame the work required to appropriately solve problems. Ability to develop solutions that account for uncertainty and risk.
- An understanding of the financial aspects of closure and rehabilitation planning and more broadly value within a mining industry frame is highly regarded
