About the role We are looking for highly motivated individuals with excellent fixed plant Condition Monitoring (VA/NDT) expertise to make a difference in the Dampier Ports Fixed Plant - Maintenance Team. These roles enable us to provide a safe, efficient and reliable Port facility through the execution of quality VA and NDT inspections to identify defects and help prevent any plant down time events.
Reporting to the Reliability Assurance Supervisor, the role will require you to:
- Be accountable for the health of fixed plant equipment using various Condition Monitoring/NDT techniques.
- Conduct both routine and ad-hoc inspections of fixed plant assets and create required reports from inspections
- Complete preventative and corrective notifications for all equipment in the fixed plant area as found through VA and NDT inspections.
- Populate, maintain and update site Watch lists and relevant databases.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with Company Policies and procedures
- Installation, maintenance and calibration of monitoring equipment
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects – increasing safety whilst reducing risk & cost
- Liaise with engineering, maintenance and production teams to link condition monitoring findings and other maintenance strategies
- Utilise SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification
- Complete quality handovers with oncoming crews and communicate in a timely and effective manner with all relevant stakeholders.
- Mentor, train and develop others
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Level 2 Vibe Analysis certification
- Level 2 NDT certification with Ultrasonic and Magnetic Particle qualifications
- Level 1 Infrared Thermography or relevant thermography experience
- Previous experience in a Heavy Engineering mining environment as a VA / NDT technician
- Excellent Vibe analysis and diagnostic skills to detect faults
- Extensive experience in analysing data and creating reports from in field inspections
- Good understanding of SAP maintenance systems or similar highly regarded
- A Manual C Class Australian Drivers Licence essential
- MSIC or ability to obtain
- Ability to work cooperatively in a small team, demonstrating flexibility to business requirements
It will also be beneficial if you have (or are willing to attain):
- High Risk Licences – Elevated Work Platform, Forklift, Confined Space, Working at Heights
- Bearing technology, maintenance and damage analysis
- Oil analysis MLA1
- Mechanical trade certification desirable but not essential
Where you will be working
Our port facilities consist of three shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert, which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading. Karratha is located just off the North West Coastal Highway, 1535 kilometres north of Perth and 240 kilometres south of Port Hedland. Karratha is a city in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, adjoining the port of Dampier.
