About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to join our collaborative team at BHP Olympic Dam and yield the successes of your ongoing development.

Working in our Fixed Plant Maintenance Reliability Team, this role will coordinate and assist in the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of fixed plant maintenance work management strategies for the Olympic Dam Mine Operation. Establishing and maintaining professional interpersonal relationships with the maintenance, production and engineering teams will be critical to ensure success in this role.

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 5/2 residential, or 5/2/4/3 FIFO with flexibility (from Adelaide) roster.  BHP will support relocation if required.

In this role you will:

  • Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety contributor.
  • Review and disseminate performance metrics and benchmark performance across other BHP businesses.
  • Review execution results from weekly work schedule to ensure compliance of preventative work.
  • Contribute to the improvement initiative portfolio and assist in delivery.
  • Perform detailed analysis of conditioning monitoring data, initiate maintenance strategies and/or changes to strategies to address emerging risks.
  • Initiate root cause analysis and “failure type” reviews (e.g.5 Whys, FMECA) of plant, equipment and non-process infrastructure based on no compliance to planned availability or unpredicted failures.
  • Create and optimise maintenance work strategies for area of accountability.
  • Initiate and approve Master Data requests for an area an area of accountability.
  • Update maintenance procedures, work instructions and control systems coding.
  • Validate work plans are in place for critical controls and monitor the effectiveness of the plans.
  • Initiate engineering requests (via 1SAP work management) on behalf of the Maintenance function to improve equipment safety and reliability, and ensure ownership of the same until completion.

About You

  • Tertiary engineering qualification, electrical preferred.
  • Problem-solving abilities that include risk management skills and critical thinking
  • Ability to influence, engage with & communicate effectively across multiple levels, business units and functional areas
  • Ability to develop credibility across multiple levels and stakeholder groups through exceptional collaboration and engagement
  • Inclusive team player that is proactive and accountable
