About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Reliability Superintendent will lead a team ensuring optimal reliability of the fixed plant equipment through the development and implementation of maintenance strategies, a comprehensive condition monitoring program, continuous improvement initiative management, and elimination of defects through investigation and root-cause analysis processes.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrate and instil an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
- Set and clearly communicate targets and expectations aligned with site goals as well as BHP values
- Lead and champion reliability principles and defect elimination processes to ensure maintenance strategies are continuously improved and equipment run-time is maximised
- Lead, coach and mentor employees to deliver on plan and further build a high performing team
- Ensure critical controls are in place for the identified material risks within the maintenance function
- Champion and drive the 5-Star Reliability Program across site
- Support the Kalgoorlie Smelter Renewal Project
About You
You will be an enthusiastic, driven individual with highly developed written and verbal communication skills and ideally previous experience couching and mentoring others. You thrive on working collaboratively with others in order to deliver key outcomes focused around safety, process optimisation, improvements and down time elimination. In addition, exposure to the following would be highly advantageous:
- Qualified to degree level in a STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) subject. Those with engineering qualifications at Trade/Diploma level and possessing considerable industry and/or organisational experience may also be considered
- A proven track record of safety management
- Strong communication skills with the ability to drive and influence teams
- Passionate about leading diverse groups of stakeholders and experts during defect/failure investigations
- Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement.
- A Professional that has guided, developed and influenced practice in the Maintenance or Reliability areas is desirable
- Experience in either a large-scale materials handling, ore processing, a large manufacturing facility or bulk production plant is desirable
- Experience in a defect elimination and root cause analysis methods is desirable
- Minimum of C class manual drivers licence
