About the role
Are you ready to take on an exciting new challenge? We are seeking a dynamic Risk Business Partner to join our Perth Hub Risk Area of Expertise (AoE) team. In this role, you will support the Iron Ore Studies team directly on Order of Magnitude through to Feasibility studies and play a key interface role with Rio Tinto Major Projects. You will also undertake work for the broader Risk AoE across Rio Tinto as required, so a willingness to travel is desired. The Risk AoE partners with our business to embed risk management into Rio Tinto’s core processes and decision-making, to create and protect value, future prospects, and reputation in line with our values of care, curiosity, and courage.

Reporting to the Perth Hub Risk Lead, you will:
Contribute to and review analysis and interpretation of risk information;
Facilitate risk workshops at a studies and program level
Support and champion initiatives to drive effective consideration of risk in core decision making processes;
Plan and deliver risk management programs of work;
Provide risk management advice to support businesses and projects consider potentially complex problems through a risk lens;
Monitor risk management programs and processes to provide management with assurance that there is a sound risk management program in place.
Support management forums, such as senior leader meetings and risk, assurance & compliance forums
Develop and maintain effective relationships at various levels within the business and with external stakeholders.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Tertiary Qualification in risk management or a related field such as engineering
Proven experience working on major studies and projects in a mining or related sector while experience in quantitative risk analysis is desirable
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Problem solving mindset coupled with intellectual curiosity
Experience in use of technology including enterprise risk systems
Proven ability to work across all levels of the business
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
