Work Location:
Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth
As part of Fortescue's Autonomy Operations team, you will be responsible for assisting with the implementation and auditing of Safety Management Systems to ensure continual improvement in a dynamic research and development mining operation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Engage with Leaders to provide advice in achieving the objectives of the strategic plan for HSES performance
- Ensure Leaders and team members are provided with coaching and mentoring to achieve confidence and competence in safety compliance, assurance activities and are proactive in identifying and managing risk
- Participate in the control of identified hazards where appropriate
- Provide assistance and guidance in the investigation of incidents
- Participate in safety inspection processes
- Active involvement in the development of new automation technology safety systems and controls
- Assistance with defining safe work processes for site-based automation projects
- Verification of controls and risk management for Autonomy Operations deployments and facilities
- Support to multiple deployments across the Autonomy and Technology portfolio
- Support for Operational Technology site activities across Fortescue operations
- Carry out field leadership activities
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of Health and Safety initiatives
- Administration of Fortescue’s Business Management System (BMS) for the Autonomy’s Operations site based team
- Actively participate in the implementation of the Fortescue Major Hazard Program
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant Occupational Health & Safety qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in an operational environment in either safety, mining or autonomous haulage systems
- Experience in Risk Management
- Demonstrated high motivation and output under minimal supervision
- Experience in procedural (safety) development
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence or equivalent
Desirable skills and qualifications:
- Safety Auditing qualification (Lead Auditor) and an awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
- Experience in ICAM investigations
- Experience in data analysis, trending & reporting
