About the Role

We have exciting opportunities for a range of diverse professionals to join the new South Australia (SA) Copper Asset HSE team as a Principal Safety Risk Management or Specialist Safety Risk Management.

In the Principal role, you will:

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify gaps and establish plans to develop and implement initiatives to improve our controls
  • Establish and maintain progress reporting to senior leaders
  • Develop a basis for capital budgets to support our planning and budgeting cycle.

In the Specialist role, you will:

  • Develop and update safety standards, procedures, and training documentation.
  • Lead studies and pilots to determine the feasibility of technologies and other controls.
  • Initiate projects by defining scope, cost estimating, and prioritisation based on delivering maximum value.
  • Support BHP's change management processes to ensure changes are successfully embedded in the operation.

About You

As a successful candidate you will possess the following: 

  • Engaging communication and influencing skills, and comfortable working with a diverse group of technical and operations professionals.
  • Technical writing and well-presented written presentation skills.
  • Experience with risk management or project development is desirable.
  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way.
