We are looking for a Safety & Risk Specialist to provide leadership and expert support to our stakeholders within Bell Bay Aluminium. This is a great opportunity for a solution focused HSE leader who is committed to driving positive outcomes for the business. 

Reporting to the HSE Business Partner the duties will include:

• Maintaining the HSE Management System so that it describes the way Bell Bay Aluminium operates and leads to improvement over time
• Lead the Risk systems implementation and maintenance over time
• Implementing a process to achieve excellence in Safety Maturity
• Safety data tracking and analysis, risk assessment, incident investigation, inspections and training.
• Maintaining and improving our Safety Standards.
• Providing guidance to the Bell Bay Aluminium Standard Champions so that the site achieves conformance to the standards
• Providing reporting function for all aspects of safety and health
• Enablon HSE transformation activities
• Monitoring the effectiveness of our key safety systems so that we can continue to maximise their benefit over time.

What you’ll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will be an experienced Health and Safety professional with leadership experience.

You will demonstrate:

• Advanced communication, influencing and engagement skills
• Demonstrated ability to drive improvement and manage change
• Demonstrated ability or experience in leading others

Bell Bay Aluminium is part of the Rio Tinto Group, a global leader in aluminium, which is one of the world’s most widely used metals. Based approximately 50 kilometres from Launceston in Northern Tasmania, the smelter produces primary aluminium products.
