About the Position

An exciting opportunity has become available for a switched-on Health, Safety, Environment & Training Advisor to join Emeco’s talented maintenance team based at Olympic Dam 

The successful candidate will be required to perform a broad range of duties including (but not limited to) the following.

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver HSE training programs including VOC move and test, HSE, site inductions and any other required site-based training.
  • Coordinate and maintain training records.
  • Partner with the HR team to manage and execute the vendor management system, training, and compliance.
  • Develop effective working relationships, through consultation and engagement, with managers/supervisors supporting them to deliver Training and HSE plans.
  • Provide regular Training and HSE metrics to the business to communicate progress against HSE plans and key HSE objectives.
  • Support managers on a range of HSE issues, and equip them with the appropriate HSE tools and knowledge to effectively lead and manage their people and to encourage safe behaviours and a positive proactive attitude towards safety management; and
  • Provide both transformational advice and transactional support across the business (covering policy and process change as well as supporting specific business changes) to improve HSE performance.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety and/or Environment.
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
  • Certification in Workplace Auditing and Workplace Investigations (e.g., ICAM);
  • Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in Training, Health, Safety and/or Environment within the heavy earthmoving & mining environment.
  • Experience working in a high-risk safety environment, e.g., mining, resources, engineering, construction, or manufacturing sector.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of current legislative requirements and the ability to effectively apply these in the workplace.
  • Possesses a passion for service delivery.
  • Is effective at multi-tasking, though proactive initiation of tasks/projects and consistently manages them through to completion; and
  • A self-starter with energy, drive, and ability to work with limited supervision and direction.
