Saraji is one of nine metallurgical coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. The Saraji mine is an open pit coal mine located near Dysart in Queensland's Bowen Basin on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people. It is one of Australia's largest mines, by recoverable coal reserves. Saraji mines the Moranbah Coal Measures, blending from up to 11 coal seams to produce and premium hard coking coal.  

The Execution Supervisor – Coal Mining, role is a leadership position within the Coal Mining Team. You would lead a crew of 30-40 people. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to continue to strengthen their leadership in this role with potential future opportunities to switch into other areas (ie Prestrip).

Your initial responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and mentor a crew of operators to build a high performance team;
  • Pursue continuous improvement with the team;
  • Strong engagement with Production, Planning & Maintenance customers to ensure we deliver our plan;
  • Fulfil your obligations as a Supervisor on a Coal Mine

About You

As the successful candidate, you will have a combination of:

  • Mine Site Experience (Ideally have ground skills)
  • Supervisor Experience
  • S1, S2, S3 & G2 Training
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Improvement Mindset

The following skills would be preferred, but not essential:

  • Coal Blending Experience
  • Mine Planning Exposure
  • Different Department Exposure
