About the Role

The Saraji mine is an open pit coal mine located near Dysart in Queensland's Bowen Basin. It is one of Australia's largest mines, by recoverable coal reserves. Saraji mines the Moranbah Coal Measures, blending from up to 11 coal seams.  We are currently seeking a safety-focused Scaffolder/Painter to join the team at our Saraji Coal Mine. The roster will be 7 days on, 7 days off, day shift only.

Your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementing of the new initiatives in a constructive way
  • Demonstrate a focus on safety, achievement and team engagement in all aspects of work
  • Erect and dismantle scaffold safely and efficiently
  • Weekly scaffold inspections to maintain scaffold register compliance
  • Blast and paint to standard
  • Carry out other planned tasks and assist the maintenance team

We are looking for the following:

You will be required have the following experience:

  • Intermediate/Advanced Scaffolding certificate (required)
  • Cert 3 in Engineering. Fabrication – (surface finishing) preferred
  • Previous experience within mining is preferred
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team 
  • Ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Effective listening and strong interpersonal skills
