About the role

We are looking for a Scheduler who will be responsible for creating and maintaining operation production schedules as well as maintenance team schedules. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, driven and collaborative individual to progress their career into a support team or to gain a greater understanding of the scheduling process.

Reporting to the Superintendent - Production Digestion and working in a diverse team with a strong focus on Health, Safety, and Environment, you will:

  • Coordinate with area stake holders to plan & schedule “current week” 
  • Create shift schedules in our YOSS system
  • Provide daily drafts for area review
  • Provide final lock schedule & delivery
  • Aligning cross boundary interaction, e.g. isolations, washings & resources
  • Monitor completed shift KPI & reschedule uncompleted tasks
  • KPI tracking -Plan vs Execution
  • Monitoring and auditing of schedule execution
  • Week 1 Planning review

Where you’ll be working

Located in Central Queensland, approximately 10km north-west of Gladstone, Yarwun alumina refinery commenced operations in 2004. Processing bauxite from our mines in Weipa and Gove, Yarwun produces more than three million tonnes of smelter grade alumina annually. As one of the largest industries in the Gladstone region, Yarwun employs over 700 people and has a large contractor workforce.

With a focus on safely improving our process every day, the team at Yarwun challenge themselves to use existing and emerging technology to support our 24 hour operation.
