About the role

We are looking for a Shutdown Scheduler to help us excel at safely maintaining our assets at our Hope Downs 1 operations, through effective preparation and delivery of maintenance shutdown schedules.
This is a unique development opportunity to manage key stakeholder relationships and gain exposure to all facets of Shutdown Scheduling within our Iron Ore Asset Management department.

Reporting to the Senior Planner and working in a dynamic and exciting environment you will be:
- Using work management & shutdown management processes to produce weekly and shutdown schedules
- Prioritising work with the Supervisors, Superintendents, and external departments, utilising your considerable stakeholder and relationship building skills
- Work closely with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation to identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure there is effective communication of the plans to ensure appropriate risk management strategies are in place
- Leading the maintenance scheduling function for weekly and shutdown activities in-line with our Asset Management and Work Management processes and practices
- Providing Subject Matter Expertise to site on our Planning & Scheduling, Work Management and Shut Management processes
- Monitoring and improving the effectiveness of our Maintenance Planning & Scheduling process
- Building shutdown schedules and maintaining capacities to ensure the effectiveness of the execution of these schedules is achieved
- Ensuring targets are consistently delivered in a sustainable/ timely manner and with maximum customer satisfaction.
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Demonstrated skills in maintenance planning or scheduling
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Experienced with the use of MS Project and building Gantt charts
- A current Australian driver's license (manual)
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate multiple work targets
- Can do attitude with problem solving skills, logical thinking and sound decision making
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and oral

Located 100km north-west of Newman, Hope Downs 1 offers an 8/6 roster and is a joint venture managed and operated by Rio Tinto, working in conjunction with nearby site Hope Downs 4. Hope Downs 1 provides exceptional career growth and opportunities, and the village provides excellent facilities for its FIFO workers.
This role is available for those to FIFO from Perth, Busselton, or Broome.
