About the Role

BHP is currently on the look-out for talented and capable Security and Emergency Management Supervisor to to join the HSE team at Jimblebar. As a Security and Emergency Management Supervisor with BHP, you will be working in a dynamic and demanding environment, which will come with its own unique challenges.

Reporting to the Site Superintendent HSE, Business Partnering, this is an exciting time to join the team to facilitate great Security and Emergency Management outcomes through your leadership, coaching, direction and expert advice. This role will be based at Jimblebar and will be focused on passionately leading a team of security, emergency services and paramedic personnel.

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver excellent Security and Emergency Management service and continuous improvement in the delivery of emergency response capability through interfacing with colleagues and customers across the site and throughout HSE so that risks with Security and Emergency impacts are effectively managed:

This is a permanent role, based on an 8 days on 6 days off roster. Flexible work options will be considered.

You will be required to:

  • Directly lead and set the strategic direction for a team of Paramedics, Security, and Emergency Services professionals, and a growing contingent of volunteer Field Response Team (FRT) personnel;
  • Resource and maintain an effective emergency response capability for site, aligned with the Emergency Management Plan and Emergency Response control design;
  • Assuming the role of On Scene Commander for all emergency events;
  • Ensure operating discipline with regard to clinical treatment guidelines, drug management, routine inspection and maintenance of critical emergency response equipment;
  • Build capability in line leaders through governance and oversight of the site Incident Management Team (IMT);
  • Liaise with the site Leadership Team to develop training scenarios to verify capability against the site risk profile.

About You

This role will suit a highly capable team player who is motivated to collaborate with site and HSE teams to ensure that everyone goes home safe every day to do the things they love.

You may also have:

  • Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue,
  • Cert IV Health Care and/or comprehensive technical understanding of risk management and/or operational mining experience to hit the ground running
  • Australian Drivers Licence
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or step up position
