Yarrabee are looking for an experienced Senior Mining Accountant to join the team in Blackwater!

About the Role

The successful candidate will become a member of a diverse and professional team who can provide strong and comprehensive analysis on the financial impact of business decisions and proposing actions to improve performance, as well as ensuring statutory and corporate reporting requirements are met.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing accounting and financial support and information for assigned portfolio assets,including assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes, and maintaining accurate accounting book records, to facilitate the achievement of on-time and on-budget quality outcomes
• Supporting the provision of accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis of assets including general entries, account reconciliation, the consolidation of data into the general ledger, SAP controlling module, and variance analysis, to facilitate the optimisation of financial performance
• Building and maintaining relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to proactively manage issues, and concerns effectively, investigate and discuss variances,and provide guidance and advice

Roster: Monday to Friday

About You

Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, this important role would suit a person who is confident, self-motivated and a team player. You will also have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce of Business or equivalent
• Hold CPA or CA qualifications (or in progress).
• Ability to build strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience working with information systems/ERP (SAP preferred).
• Experience with Mining and Resource Accounting, Budgeting and Forecasting
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle large amounts of information in an organised manner.
• Ability to plan, prepare, and execute an audit plan, including managing the external audit relationship
• Experience in the use of Xeras forecasting and budgeting tool
• Generic Surface Induction (Standard 11)
• Current QLD Driver’s licence
