About the role

We are looking for a Senior Advisor - Project Controls to join the Rio Tinto Projects team to support the Gove Refinery Closure Execution Project. The role will be based in Brisbane and will require travel to the project site on a regular basis.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced cost controller to work on high value, one-of-a-kind projects. We have invested in building our growth and closures capability and this role will offer great variety and career potential.
Reporting to the Gove Portfolio Project Controls Manger and working in a collaborative and exciting environment, you will be:
- Package forecasting of costs
- Liaising with key stakeholders to ensure engagement and buy- in of package forecasts
- Facilitating the change management process for the project
- Forecasting activities for commitment and expenditure
- Reviewing cost data and providing analyses on the package with recommendations
- Communicating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build effective relationships
- Liaising with our Construction Contractors daily to ensure alignment to plan and support accurate forecasting of cost and schedule
What you will bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Previous experience in cost control for major packages
- Understanding of project management and controls concepts
- Previous experience working with Cost Management Tools
- Ability to work well within a team and independently as a self-starter
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Exposure to Major Project and tier 1 EPC or EPCM contractors desirable.
