About the role

We are looking for an experienced training and capability professional to lead the design, development and delivery of training and enablement activities supporting Rio Tinto's Modern ERP transformation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and influential learning professional to help drive workforce readiness and adoption for one of our largest enterprise-wide business and technology transformation programs.

Based in Perth, and supporting the APAC West region, you will work closely with stakeholders across the business, from Modern ERP colleagues, to operational and change teams, subject matter experts and implementation partners to ensure employees are equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence required to successfully adopt new processes and systems.

Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Enablement and working within the Modern ERP Program, you will:

  • Lead regional training needs analysis activities to identify capability gaps and learning priorities across impacted business groups

  • Design, develop and implement engaging learning and enablement solutions aligned to business objectives and transformation milestones

  • Deliver and facilitate training programs using a range of learning approaches, including instructor-led, virtual and digital learning experiences

  • Partner with stakeholders, subject matter experts and program teams to develop fit-for-purpose training strategies and plans.

  • Measure training effectiveness through evaluation frameworks, reporting and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement

  • Manage learning governance activities, ensuring training content, records and resources remain current and accessible through learning management systems

  • Build strong relationships with regional leadership teams, HR stakeholders and implementation partners to support successful change adoption

About you

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

  • Demonstrated experience designing, delivering and evaluating training, learning or capability programs within a large and complex organisation

  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across multiple levels of the business

  • Experience supporting organisational change, transformation or technology-enabled business improvement initiatives

  • Strong project management and coordination capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities and delivery timelines

  • Experience working with learning management systems and adult learning methodologies

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education, Learning & Development, Human Resources, Organisational Development or a related discipline will be highly regarded, as would experience working with SAP or S4Hana.

You’ll join the Modern ERP Program — a multi‑disciplinary team bringing together technology, process, data and change specialists to reshape how work happens across Rio Tinto. We’re modernising a 20‑year‑old ERP system and redesigning core business processes to improve safety, efficiency and ignite innovation.
