Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Integrated Operations is seeking a Perth based Senior Advisor to join their Future Scheduling Platform (FSP) project team. Part of Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s End-to-End Digital Transformation programme this project is using new advanced digital tools and optimisation techniques to transform the experience of the Integrated Operations Supply Forecasting and Scheduling team who produce schedules and manage the deviation of iron ore material movement across the mine to port value chain.

Reporting to the Manager Project Lead, key accountabilities for the position will be to:

  • Provide effective and confident stakeholder engagement for FSP delivery across the project team, scheduling leadership and broader stakeholders
  • Contribute to business improvement planning and execution and change management methodology
  • Identify critical path and process change to realise the value of FSP implementation
  • Analyse the logic that supports FSP automated decisions and schedule generation
  • Undertake investigative data analytics of supply chain performance to highlight opportunities
  • Maximise the effectiveness and deployment of FSP use cases into the operational environment

What you’ll bring

To be considered suitable applicants will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of end-to-end scheduling processes and systems and/or logistics management
  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain and an understanding of the impact of business-critical schedule changes and deviations
  • Sound commercial acumen and understanding of value chain optimisation
  • Confident interpersonal communication style for effective stakeholder engagement
  • Change management strategy exposure including business improvement methodology application
  • Digital transformation project experience
  • Previous experience working in the mining and/or resources industry preferred
  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Surveying or Science preferred
