About the role

We are looking for a Senior Advisor Agreements and Governance. In this role, you will own and support the delivery of the governance and compliance requirements, along with providing technical support in implementing our Traditional Owner partnership Agreements and Commitments.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor Agreements & Governance, you will:

  • Lead and support technical compliance requirements of existing agreements and commitments i.e. SFAC meetings
  • Conduct analysis and research to provide choices on strategic direction on partnership and agreement improvement opportunities
  • Contribute to development of the Agreement implementation and compliance plans including relevant frameworks for monitoring compliance and performance. Support peer review to ensure alignment with partnership aspirations, and standard and legal compliance. Plans should be based on leading practice and consider the medium to long term
  • Lead drafting of commitments and agreements and undertake internal approval and reviews as required  
  • Support or lead preparation and conduct engagements with Traditional Owner stakeholders as part of implementing the agreement making, review or compliance steps outlined in relevant strategies and plans​
  • Support and lead the drafting and review (with key internal stakeholders and where relevant external stakeholders) of agreements or commitments
  • Support and lead compliance review, analysis and reporting
  • Working with my leader and the Lead Agreement Negotiators build and manage internal relationships across TOP, HSEC, RTIO, RT as part of successfully communicating, aligning and deciding on implementation and negotiation strategies/ plans for Traditional Owner groups​
  • Build relationships with Traditional Owner stakeholders which for example includes; Elders, Emerging family members, PBC leaders and supporting consultants to TO groups, to support negotiations and engagement on agreement compliance
  • Support post agreement negotiation meeting review rhythms and routines to support review/ refinement of the plan and future engagement approach​

What you’ll bring   

  • Native Title Agreement Legislation understanding
  • Influencing, negotiation, risk management, conflict management skills
  • Ability to conduct assurance activities and project management
  • Experience in strategy support and project management
  • Experience in developing scopes, plans tenders and knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Agreement implementation, review management and benchmarking
  • Legislative/regulatory awareness and compliance
  • Social and economic impact and opportunity analysis
  • Business analysis
