We are looking for a Senior Advisor Biodiversity to lead targeted research projects and support our operations through technical advice and management response.
This role is a great opportunity to provide strategic leadership, technical support, and drive sustainable growth of our operations through research and development programs. Reporting to the Business Partner Environment you will be:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for biodiversity and environmental programs and partnerships across Pacific Operations
- Through proactive engagement, maintain and enhance strategic partnerships with key biodiversity and community stakeholders across Pacific Operations
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of environmental risk profile as it relates to biodiversity across Pacific Operations
- Drives change management, provides advice and SME support to achieve positive outcomes for addressing biodiversity and land related risk
- Support and provide SME for implementation of leading practice in biodiversity matters across sites
- Critical technical and strategic analysis of biodiversity controls and practices across Pacific Operations
- Liaison/support for site governance activities in identifying and managing business risks related to biodiversity
- Contribute toward an inclusive culture through collaboration with peers across the broader Pacific Operations Environment team
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Ecology or Environment related
- Effectively engage, influence and support a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Experience engaging with NGO’s, regulatory bodies and Traditional Owners
- Solid experience managing multi-faceted projects over large geographical areas and able to think critically and question the status quo
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and well-honed influencing and negotiation skills
- Applied knowledge of relevant industry legislation and regulations
- Previous experience in mining or industry in a similar role (5 years minimum)
