About the role

We are looking for a Senior Advisor - Communities & Social Performance (CSP) -Governance, to join our team based in Gladstone. The role is responsible for maintaining good governance and effective systems and reporting across CSP activities.

Reporting to the Manager Communities & Social Performance you will:

  • Support the CSP Manager to monitor implementation of the CSP Plan for Gladstone and deliver our social performance objectives

  • Work collaboratively across all functions of the CSP team to understand priorities and provide effective governance, systems and reporting to ensure the CSP plan is delivered per standard and guidance

  • Lead work with the CSP team to assess conformance against the Rio Tinto CSP Standard, identifying actions and plans to close gaps where needed

  • Manage the CSP components of key systems used by the team (RTA Connect, Enablon, Archer), including training, monitoring effectiveness etc.

  • Coordinate internal and external assurance and reporting activities for the team (e.g. S&E survey, audits, monthly reporting)

  • Be the CSP Risk Coordinator for Gladstone, organising regular social and human rights risk reviews and other activities to effectively manage social and human rights risks and maintain good risk health

  • Lead various improvement projects within the CSP team as directed by the Manager CSP

  • Support CSP procedure updates where needed

  • Build strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders across our operational footprint and assets in Gladstone

What you'll bring

  • Tertiary qualification in social sciences or equivalent 

  • Demonstrated experience in CSP discipline across a range of activities

  • Proven ability to listen, communicate, work collaboratively and develop positive relationships with stakeholders

  • Skills and experience in influencing internal and external stakeholders, project management, compliance and risk management

  • Ability to project manage engagement related work and be self-motivated to drive outcomes

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your colleagues

  • Excellent people, teamwork and communication skills

  • Ability to manage complex and conflicting priorities
