We are looking for a Senior Advisor Culture Communications and Projects who will play a critical role in managing our global recognition, reward and performance communication, as critical cultural levers in our cultural transformation. Ensuring our communication to our employees is clear, consistent, relevant and timely, so they feel connected to our purpose, strategy and progress. 

This is a great opportunity for a structured and organised thinker who is comfortable working at pace. Reporting to the Director Global Culture, Employee and Leadership Communications, you will be: 

  • Supporting the development and implementation of our Employee Communications strategy by managing our global employee communications 
  • Running the global recognition programme communications and annual recognition awards 
  • Running Global Reward and Benefits campaigns for employees, to ensure our people understand how competitive we are and that they use the key benefits they are entitled to  
  • Manage performance campaign, such that feedback and performance at the heart of our cultural communication and joined up with our scorecard communications  
  • Manage culture projects and campaigns as needed to support our cultural transformation 
  • Work closely with the Principal Advisor for Employee Content and Editorial team and Principal Advisor Digital Channels so that we share key messages across our digital channels in a truly engaging way 
  • Work closely with Business Partner, HR, to ensure consistent stakeholder management and messaging across HR projects  
  • Building connections with our Business Partners and other teams within Communications and the wider business, using local and global channels, to share key messages through and across Rio Tinto  
  • Work and manage senior leaders as part of execution of communications 
  • Always review impact and look at better ways to produce key global employee communications set pieces 
  • Work closely with the brand team to ensure our global employee communications adheres to our brand 
  • Manage dates and cadence of our key employee channels 
  • Act as an active and noisy advocate for an evolved culture in Communications (focused, expert, fun and dynamic), helping to bring team members with us as we build an effective and connected function. 
  • Be an enabler for brilliance across the whole function 

What you’ll bring  

  • At least 5 years’ experience in employee communications . 
  • Proven ability to manage and engage senior stakeholders 
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and to manage multiple streams of work simultaneously. 
  • A high level of diplomacy and the ability to manage conflict and gain consensus. 
  • Demonstrated highly collaborative behaviour and ability to derive value from the broader organisation through sharing knowledge, experience, and skills.  
  • Extremely organised 
  • Courageous and driven to try new ways of doing things to maximise impact of channels and content 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

It will also be beneficial if you have: 

  • Strong written French skills (in addition to fluency in English) for occasional translation reviews.
