About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. We are looking for aSenior Advisorto join our Mine Development & Studies team withing Mine Technical Services. This is a great opportunity for a candidate who is looking to take their technical ability to the next level, helping to lead technical best practice for the mine engineering discipline and influence the future of mining for Rio Tinto Iron Ore. Reporting to the Principal Mining Development & Studies and working alongside other like-minded engineers, with the support of industry leading systems and processes you will be responsible for: · Mine planning activities to support Mine Development Studies for the next tranche of Pilbara mines · Strategic pit and dump strategy and design · Approvals and resource development coordination · Support to ore reserve reporting. · Technical leadership including first line assurance and team coaching · Undertake improvement projects to advance mine planning productivity and solve new challenges You will be given opportunities to learn and grow as a technical professional.
