We are looking for a Senior Adviser, Digital Content and News to work as part of Rio Tinto’s Group Employee Communications team to support and implement the company’s internal editorial strategy.
This role is a great opportunity to work across Rio Tinto’s Group-wide internal channels and develop content that helps drive pride, advocacy and engagement among Rio Tinto’s employees.
Reporting to the Principal Adviser, Employee Editorial, and working in a collaborative environment, you will be:
- Supporting the development and implementation of Rio Tinto’s Employee Communications strategy and approach through storytelling and creation and sharing of content across multiple types of media for our Group-wide channels.
- Building connections with other teams within the Communications function and the wider business to source leads and content.
- Planning, sourcing, writing, editing and publishing content for channels including our intranet, employee app and Viva Engage in various formats (including written and other types of media eg video).
- Supporting with content for our leadership newsletter and global livestream events.
- Collaborating with the Group Employee Communications team on announcements and editorial materials as required for internal communications activities, campaigns and events.
- Supporting the business with internal-facing editorial material, encouraging and ensuring the consistent use of our corporate messaging and editorial style.
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- A degree in journalism, communications or related discipline.
- At least seven years’ experience in editorial roles.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to source and identify good stories.
- Proven track record in producing and delivering content across digital platforms, including production of video and other media.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and to manage multiple streams of work simultaneously.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Strong written French skills (in addition to fluency in English) for occasional translation reviews.
