We are looking for a Senior Advisor Facilities Strategy for our Facilities Strategy Studies team in Perth. This role will be directly responsible for leading early concept development and order of Magnitude (OOM), Pre-Feasibility (PFS) for expansions at Iron Ore’s accommodation villages in the Pilbara. The role will also be the owners representative for approved projects through Sustaining Capital’s Feasibility Study (FS) and execution stage to receive final deliverables and making projects operational.
The role requires applicable built form design and project management knowledge and experience with critical thinking and problem solving to manage consultant project management and delivery teams as the owner’s representative for Rio Tinto Iron Ore Facilities Accommodation projects with internal project delivery partners.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer Facilities, accountabilities include but are not limited to;
Lead our safety efforts and embed our Critical Risk Management within your area of control
Lead Facilities design/study phase of built form accommodation projects of $30M+ budget.
Safely execute, lead and manage assigned projects through OOM and PFS study phases
Navigate all relevant approvals process
Manage key project stakeholders
Building design management
Front end project scoping
Development of business case and seeking of internal funding approvals
Management of internal and external stakeholders
Owners representative supporting project delivery team
What you’ll bring
Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving
Experience with built form construction consultants and documentation
Experience procuring and working with design consultants
Experience with project management, leading and collaborating within a team
Experience managing internal & external stakeholders
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Project. PowerBi knowledge an advantage
C class drivers licence
Tertiary Engineering qualifications with experience in Building projects and/ or mining is preferred

Where you’ll be working
You and your team will be Perth based with opportunity to work flexibly from home combined with time in our Central Park offices. Our wider team is spread across a combination of Perth and Pilbara Resource Development sites. There will be some Pilbara site visits required, with frequency dictated by project need.
