About the role

We are looking for a Senior Advisor - Finance to be part of a high performing site-based finance team which is committed to adding value to Weipa operations through effective coaching, business insights and innovation. Collaborating with the Leadership team the right candidate will challenge, advise and provide business insights to optimise business performance and financial knowledge of the operational leaders.

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner and working in, a challenging and exciting environment within the Finance team, you will be:

• Responsible for site planning, forecasting and communicating actual site performance.
• Business analysis, including collaboration with stakeholders to provide business cases.
• Provide expertise across a complex organisation (3 active mining areas, 3 processing plants and numerous support areas) to enhance financial comprehension and drive decision making.
• Provide financial coaching to all levels & vocations within the organisation.
• Identifying financial opportunities and influencing outcomes to enhance the performance of the business.

What you will bring

• Bachelor and/or professional qualification e.g. CA, CPA.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
• Team orientated approach to delivery of strategic priorities.
• Proven experience in identifying & delivering financial opportunities to completion.
• Ability to present & communicate complex strategical financial information to differing levels of financial acumen.

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• Experience in use of SAP and the Rio Tinto Business Solution (specifically PAM and MMP)
• Proficiency with business intelligence programs/techniques (PowerBI, PowerApps, ThinkCell and SQL)

Rio Tinto Weipa is located 900km north-west of Cairns on the Gulf of Carpentaria and has been operating for over 50 years. Construction of the Amrun mining operation, located 40 kilometres southwest of Weipa, was completed in late 2018 expanding our bauxite operations to continue production from one of the world’s premier bauxite deposits.
