We are looking for a Senior Advisor Geometallurgy to support our advanced characterisation and geometallurgical studies.
This is a great opportunity to hold a pivotal role in driving excellence within our mining processes. Your expertise will play a crucial part in ensuring efficient ore recovery and resource optimisation, aligning with our commitment to sustainable practices. You will work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, providing strategic input and shaping the direction of our mining operations.

Reporting to the Manager Geometallurgy and working a challenging and exciting environment within the Technical Development team, you will be responsible for:
- Project Delivery: Plan and schedule geometallurgical and ore characterisation studies to support ore body knowledge, geometallurgy, and mineral processing test work programs. Taking responsibility for quality, HSE, schedule, and budget.
- Problem Solving: Direct critical thinking towards complex problems to address challenges in ore characterisation and optimise geometallurgical outcomes.
- Data Interpretation: Interpret study results and establish links to geological and metallurgical models. Including employing advanced data analysis techniques to evaluate data and develop proxies for block model integration.
- Data Quality: Maintain an unwavering focus on data quality and meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and memorandums that detail findings and recommendations.
- Communication: Effectively present study results and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Guide and develop other teams members, ensuring the quality, HSE, schedule, and budget requirements are met.
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team (standard for all job adverts)
- A tertiary qualification in at least ONE of Geology, Geochemistry, Earth Science, Metallurgy, Mineral Processing or related field
- At least five years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Applied Geometallurgy
- Automated mineralogy technology, such as QemScan and MLA, or equivalent technologies.
- Metallurgy
- Geochemical analytical techniques, including electron microprobe, scanning electron microscope, and laser-ablation ICPMS.
- Strong capabilities in strategic thinking, complex problem solving and a focus on value delivery.
- Advanced data analysis skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and precisely.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
Desired
While not mandatory, the following qualifications and experience would be advantageous:
- Proficiency in sampling theory and experimental statistical analysis/design.
- Database management and programming/data science skills.
- Innovative technology development experience for novel applications in advanced ore body characterization.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and geochemical analysis using software packages such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, MapInfo, or ioGAS.
- Experience with coding, analytical and generative AI
