About the role
We are looking for a Senior Cultural Heritage Advisor to lead and support our heritage programs and activities. Reporting to the Lead Cultural Heritage Management, you will:
- Lead the heritage program in your portfolio
- Set direction for and support the development of a team of Cultural Heritage Advisors
- Manage cultural heritage engagements and technical interactions with Traditional Owner groups related to heritage site management and mine development plans
- Lead project and contractor management, including the strategic direction and organisation of fieldwork and reporting
- Conduct fieldwork and community consultation including archaeological and ethnographic surveys, Traditional Owner led community projects, social surroundings programs and archaeological programs for approvals and research purposes.
- Liaise between Traditional Owner groups and the business on cultural heritage management activities to shape our mine designs and operational activities
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- A degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Heritage Management, History or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience and technical expertise in Heritage Management, and ability to conduct fieldwork
- Experience working with Traditional Owners / Indigenous groups, in a relationship management or community engagement capacity
- Broad background working within Heritage Management in mining & resources, consulting, not for profit, Aboriginal Corporations, contract management, or similar
