This pivotal role provides guidance and support in the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) across our Surface Mining operations throughout Australia. We're seeking a proactive and experienced individual who thrives in a dynamic environment, can manage competing priorities, and is passionate about driving continuous improvement and supporting operational teams.

About the Role 

• Provide the Surface Mining operational teams with expert support, as well as mentoring and guiding them in HSEQ goals and objectives.
• Analyse data to deliver and implement improvement initiatives to enhance safety, health and wellness within the Surface Mining teams.  
• Support the tendering process with HSEQ input and requirements.  
• Assist in the maintenance of the local Health and Safety Management System. 
• Lead HSEQ audits for compliance and manage local ISO certifications. 
• Facilitate incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions. 
• Lead risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies including the management of the local critical risk management program.
• Continually review industry practices to ensure Macmahon Surface Mining is implementing effective and up to date safety controls.
• Maintain knowledge of WHS legislation across the areas in Australia that Surface Mining Operate 

About you

• Qualifications in Health and Safety or a related discipline. 
• Approximately 5 years of experience in Work Health and Safety (WHS). 
• Demonstrated experience in influencing stakeholders. 
• Strong knowledge of HSEQ systems, audits, and compliance requirements.
• This role is based in Perth but requires regular travel to operational sites across Western Australia.
