We’re building a world-class software engineering capability

A career with us will put you at the fore-front of automation and intelligent mining because we’re transforming the way we work and operate through new technologies. To support us on this journey, we’re building an internal software engineering capability and are partnering with global technology company, Endava which will give you an incredible opportunity to work alongside the best people in their field.

With a focus on our values, performance, innovation, and strong leadership, you’ll join a diverse team of experts who are determined to build the digital future for Rio Tinto. Our aim is to ensure we deliver real value to our business by surrounding our digital assets with a talented team of experts who will bring these technologies to life and keep our business running.

About the role

We are looking for a Health, Safety, Environment, Security and Community (HSESC) Senior Advisor to play a key role in our ‘once in a career’ Modern ERP Global project on a twelve month fixed term contract, with potential 12 month extension.

The Senior Advisor – HSESC Data plays a key role in supporting the delivery of data transformation initiatives within the Modern ERP Program, with a specific focus on HSESC business processes. This role bridges the gap between data management and process design, ensuring that data solutions are aligned with HSESC operational needs and contribute to improved decision-making, compliance, and efficiency.

Working closely with the Principal Advisor – HSESC GPO Data SME and other cross-functional teams, the Senior Advisor will contribute to the design, documentation, and integration of data and process deliverables, supporting the successful implementation of fit-for-purpose ERP solutions.

Data is one of our most important assets. From mine to market, behind each of our operations and projects are technological innovations and data science that are driving new industry standards in mining and metals. With a clear focus on values, performance and strong leadership, you get to grow with an organisation that values your work and rewards you accordingly.

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.

  • 5+ years of experience in a HSESC role, including site-based application of HSESC systems and processes.

  • Proven ability to translate business needs into functional data solutions, working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of data governance and quality management practices to ensure compliance and data reliability.

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams with a passion for building and nurturing relationships with internal and external partners to achieve project goals.

  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and tools is beneficial, but the primary emphasis is on involvement with HSE data projects within a complex organization.

What we offer

  • We offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests. Have a conversation with us about how this could work for you, including requests for part time hours.

  • Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you have helped the world progress.

  • An excellent base salary reflective of your skills and experience with an annual incentive program.

  • Comprehensive medical benefits, including subsidised private health insurance for employees and immediate family.

  • Attractive share ownership plan.

  • Extensive salary sacrifice & salary packaging options.

  • Career development & education assistance to further your technical or leadership ambitions.

  • Exclusive employee discounts (banking, accommodation, cars, retail and more).
