About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic, adaptable and personable Senior Advisor - People Development with excellent communication and coaching skills. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Business Partner, working closely with the leadership team. This role will be responsible for delivering people initiatives to enable skill development and the software engineering capability of the function.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with our strategic partners, Endava, to understand and interpret industry best practice for translation into the Rio Tinto context.
  • Work with subject matter experts to define learning and career pathways within and beyond the function.
  • Partner with team members to design, develop and facilitate the onboarding program for all junior programs and facilitate integration into the teams.
  • Oversee the onboarding program for senior team members.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate the leadership development process and program, leveraging existing Rio Tinto and IS&T (Information Systems and Technology) partnerships and programs.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate programs to enable effective teams.
  • Enable the implementation of the function’s leadership model through coaching and facilitation.
  • Lead the engagement of industry and university partnerships to enable the function’s rapid growth.
  • Carry out market analysis to inform the employee value proposition and people initiatives.
  • Consult with and care for people in the function, ensuring that our learning and development programs, and people initiatives are aligned with strategy.
  • Design and implement measures of engagement for culture and retention e.g., delivery of engagement surveys and implementation of engagement initiatives.
  • Design and develop bespoke learning content.

  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Knowledge and experience designing and building high quality, bespoke learning and development materials

Desirable

  • 5+ years’ experience in learning and development roles, ideally in the technology industry
