If you are an experienced people leader and are looking to advance your career, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Senior Advisor Projects. This is a non-project management role whose primary focus is to lead a high-performance team of site-based Project Advisors. Working with established systems and processes, you will support the safe delivery of sustaining capital projects which enable our Paraburdoo operations to produce iron ore in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Reporting to the Superintendent Paraburdoo Delivery and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will:

  • Manage Advisor allocations, rosters and ensure every team member has a quality development plan which is established and tracked regularly
  • Be a champion of Safety and Rio Tinto Values of Care, Courage and Curiosity, leading by example, coaching, mentoring both direct reports and contracting groups and leading investigations which produce real actions to influence change
  • Coach and train Project Advisors in RTIO safety and project delivery systems and implement RTIO/Sustaining Capital safety system updates and improvements
  • Engage early with the Project Leads and Engineers to ensure the project preparation sets up for safe and successful project delivery
  • Monitor and influence the quality and schedule requirements of each project in the portfolio, ensuring safe delivery of a quality product whilst adhering to scheduled timelines
  • Be a single point of contact for stakeholder and end user engagement across the site

To be successfully considered for this role you will have:

  • Full commitment to deliver projects with zero harm and to champion to the Rio Tinto Values of Care, Courage and Curiosity
  • Demonstrated skills in a previous Leadership role
  • Strong people management skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
  • Previous experience in a FIFO based role
  • A current manual WA Driver’s license.

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • HSE management experience/exposure
  • Contractor management experience/exposure
  • Exposure to Critical Risk Management Process and Systems
  • Previous experience/exposure in the resources and/or construction industry
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office suite;
