Rio Tinto are looking for a visionary and experienced Senior Advisor to oversee the operations of our ServiceNow platform—an essential pillar of our digital transformation journey.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager ServiceNow Platform, the Senior Advisor ServiceNow Platform Operations is ultimately accountable for the foundational core services of the ServiceNow Platform and ensuring alignment/compliance with all design standards and the strategic roadmap.

The Senior Advisor ServiceNow Platform Operations will be responsible for liaising with the various Technical and Business stakeholders and product owners to ensure the Platform remains stable and performs effectively to support all Products and Applications in which it underpins.

Responsibilities

  • Supports creating the Core Platform roadmap and integration into the overall Platform Roadmap.

  • Ensures Platform Core Services team alignment with the business strategy, roadmap, and platform governance policies.

  • Has ownership and oversight of the ServiceNow Production instance, the core platform team, and any escalations.

  • Manage support vendors and contracts for operational support of the platform.

  • Maximises value by identifying additional business outcomes the platform allows.

  • Ensures compliance to contractual and license agreements ensuring that the platform meets all internal and external security and risk controls.

  • Maintains ongoing engagement with ServiceNow via various customer forums to identify future capabilities due for release and potential ingestion into the Platform Roadmap.

  • Responsible for the Performance, Security, Continuity and Capacity of the Production Platform.

  • Coordinate Platform upgrades whilst ensuring maximum Platform uptime and stability.

What you’ll bring

  • Expertise in ITIL framework, IT Service Management (preferably to a managers level).

  • Continuous Improvement methodologies.

  • 5 yrs.+ ServiceNow experience.

  • Managing integration between different tools/platforms.

  • Process integration between different tools and partners.

  • Planning and roadmaps

  • Demand / Capacity Management experience.

  • Working with strategic partners both on and offshore.

Successful track record in:

  • Deploying Service Management processes and tools for across global organisations.

  • Continual Service Improvement - identifying and delivering ongoing value across to an organisation.

  • Design, deployment and embedment of Governance models/standards.

  • Capturing, prioritising and delivering strategic ServiceNow Demand to support the business in a timely manner.
